The
Sammallahti cottages are situated in the village of Kalmari in the municipality
of Saarijärvi, on the shore of Iso-Löytänäjärvi lake.
The lake is about four kilometres long and one kilometre wide. The active village
has its own shop and a bank five kilometres from the cottages. These spacious
and well-equipped cottages are located near the route between Jyväskylä
and Kokkola, amid the peace of the countryside. This is hilly country, with
a verdant forest landscape broken by lakes that remains beautiful all year.
There is access by
the cottages to a three-kilometre-long marked hiking/ski track along which there
is a hut and shelter. There are also excellent possibilities for mushroom gathering
and berry picking in the immediate area, and the fishing waters are great. The
possibilities for outdoor recreation are most splendid.
The cottages and their
surroundings offer a lot to do for the whole family! Examples of the tourist
attractions in the vicinity are:
Veijari activity park,
10 km
Julmat lammit nature conservation area, 8 km
Pyhähäkki national park, 40 km
Lomakouhero holiday and entertainment centre, 19 km
